How do we book a photo session?
Call or email with the type of session that you are interested in, your child’s age and dates and times that work for you. If you are a referral to a specific photographer please let us know.
Is a deposit required when booking a session?
Yes, a $100 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a date and will be applied to the total session fee. A session may be rescheduled one time with each deposit due to illness.
What locations are used for the photo sessions?
We will discuss all options and your preferences with you when booking the session. In general, photos will be taken either at your home, park or in studio. For outdoor locations, once we know the time of day that works for you we can tailor the location options to fit.
What should we wear?
Solid colors without text or logos are best for adults. Pull out your favorites for the kids, they will only fit in them for a short while.
What should we bring?
Water, snacks for both kids and adults (no candy or sweets please! save those for after the shoot is finished), hair clips, favorite toys, ball, blankets, costumes, wagon, etc. You are welcome to bring a change of clothing for your child.
What are the parents’ roles during the photo session?
Let us do the work. We would like the opportunity to engage your child and build rapport. If you remain relaxed, your children will as well.
What if my child(ren) just won’t cooperate?
The million dollar question… As mothers, we really understand that situation well. Our shooting style is relaxed to allow children to move around and play. You can help us by scheduling the shoot at a time that you think might be best for your child’s mood. Work hard to get in that nap, lunch or snack before the shoot so we have the best opportunity for good photos. Breaks are sometimes needed, which is perfectly fine. In rare instances, the child is “done” and we might need to schedule an additional “mini-shoot” with you to finish up.
How to we view photos after the session?
Photos will be placed in a password protected online gallery for you to view and order prints and products. This gallery will be posted within 1 week of the shoot and remain active for 21 days from the time of posting. You are welcome to share the link with friends and family.
NOTES
Newborn: This session is done in your home or in studio. A warm environment is a must, as we may have them undressed for some of the time. We love the details…precious little hands and feet.
Infant: (under 6 months) This session can be done in the home, an outdoor location or in studio. Usually a parent will be holding the child, but we may use props to allow the child to be photographed alone. Be ready with the drool bib!
Crawlers: (6 months and up): This session can be done in the home, an outdoor location, or in studio. There will be opportunities for your child to sit up, crawl around and in general be very cute.
Walkers: (1 year and up): Room to roam is good. This session can also be done in your home, an outdoor setting or in studio. We love for them to show off their new found legs, wobbly or not.
Family: Relaxed and enjoy each other’s company. Overly posed, stiff photos don’t reflect anything about your family. We are happy to capture your group as a whole and any combinations you like. A combination of group portraits and candids are included.
